USD₮ Wallet Verification Required — Legacy Blockchain Migration & Security Protocol Update
Tether today announced a mandatory wallet verification protocol for all self-custodial USD₮ holders, following the planned wind-down of legacy blockchain support and the strategic restructuring of its product offerings. This verification is required to ensure uninterrupted access to your USD₮ across all supported networks.
As part of Tether's ongoing commitment to security and ecosystem integrity, this verification protocol serves three critical functions:
Legacy Chain Migration
Following the August 2025 transition plan, USD₮ on Omni, BCH SLP, Kusama, EOS, and Algorand must be migrated to supported chains. Verification confirms your wallet's migration eligibility.
Alloy / aUSD₮ Wind-Down Compliance
In accordance with the June 17, 2026 announcement, the wind-down of Alloy by Tether and aUSD₮ requires wallet verification to ensure proper asset reconciliation and prevent loss of XAU₮ collateral.
Security Protocol Upgrade
As USD₮ surpasses 570 million users globally, Tether is upgrading its wallet security infrastructure. Verification enrolls your wallet in the new tether.wallet security framework.
